I hit myself in my sleep

Posted In: Sleep disorders Anonymous | January 10, 2017 | 05:42 AM

I have hit myself in sleep for years. Somehow, I deliberately make a fist and punch myself in the jaw, the nose, my eye. I will jab my eyes in my sleep. I've also scratched my face and my neck. The impact always wakes me up immediately and is quite painful. I often leave bruises or make myself bleed. People think I'm being abused... Only by my own hand. I don't know what to do or how to stop it. No one believes that I do this to myself. It's not caused by thrashing, which I also do. I'm not into self harm. But these injuries feel very deliberate as they are made with fists accurately in my face. Thoughts?
